At the December 11, 2007 Reception for the Wounded Warriors from Camp Lejeune, Steve and wounded warriors shown in the foreground listen as Jim Casti (Not Shown), announces that "We Made It!". Mr. Casti was referring to the fact that enough funds were donated to insure that all 125 Wounded Warriors that requested financial assistance with Christmas Leave travel plans will receive that help. Mr. Casti, MOPH Christmas Leave Coordinator, will be at the Camp Lejeune Wounded Warrior Barracks on Friday, 14 December to distribute travel funds. The reception was held at the New Bern Golf & Country Club where over 250 local citizens and dignitaries welcomed 29 U.S. Marine Corps Wounded Warriors. Jesse Torres, MOPH NC State Commander, was on hand to accept 100% of the funds donated. Mr. Torres will be at the Ft. Bragg Warrior Transition Barracks on Thursday 13 December to distribute travel funds to about 30 wounded soldiers.
